Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Slicing, chopping, mincing, and seasoning ingredients, plus grilling, frying, baking, and sautéing, according to recipes.
- Station Management: Setting up and stocking workstations with necessary supplies.
- Sanitation and Safety: Adhering to health regulations, cleaning, and sanitizing cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Inventory Control: Checking food freshness, storing items properly, and reporting shortages.
- Plating: Ensuring food is presented attractively.
Requirements and Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in a professional kitchen or similar setting.
- Culinary Skills: Strong knowledge of cooking methods and knife techniques.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in high temperatures.
- Certification: Food handler’s permit or ServSafe certification is often required.
- Teamwork: Ability to work with other kitchen staff to deliver food in a timely manner.
