Job Description:
A Hospital Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments, developing customized rehabilitation plans. They work within multidisciplinary teams, utilizing manual therapy and exercise to improve patient mobility, manage pain, and facilitate recovery following surgery, injury, or chronic illness.
Core Responsibilities
- Assessment & Diagnosis: Evaluating patient mobility, strength, and function to determine the appropriate treatment plan.
- Treatment Implementation: Performing manual therapies, therapeutic exercises, and electrotherapy to treat injuries and illnesses.
- Rehabilitation Planning: Designing specialized programs for acute, post-operative, and chronic patients, often focusing on orthopedic, cardiovascular, and neurological recovery.
- Collaboration: Working with doctors, nurses, and other specialists to provide holistic care, as outlined in the physiotherapist j
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate patient records and progress notes.
- Education: Advising patients and their families on movement techniques and injury prevention.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
- Licensure: Valid state or national licensure to practice.
- Clinical Knowledge: Proficiency in manual therapy, exercise prescription, and using electrotherapy devices.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex information to patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to assist patients with mobility issues.
