Job Description:
A Tally Operator manages daily financial transactions, data entry, and accounting records using Tally ERP/Prime software. Key responsibilities include creating invoices, reconciling bank statements, managing inventory records, ensuring GST compliance, and generating financial reports. This role demands high accuracy and proficiency in accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities of a Tally Operator
- Data Entry & Management: Inputting sales, purchases, payments, and receipts into Tally.
- Billing & Invoicing: Generating, processing, and maintaining sales and purchase invoices.
- Bank Reconciliation: Matching bank statements with Tally records to identify discrepancies.
- Inventory Control: Tracking stock levels, including inward and outward movements.
- Taxation & Compliance: Handling GST invoicing, tax calculations, and assisting in TDS compliance.
- Reporting: Preparing daily, monthly, and yearly reports such as Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
- Record Maintenance: Ensuring all financial records are updated and securely maintained.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Tally ERP 9 or TallyPrime.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Accounting Knowledge: Sound understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and tax regulations (GST).
- Attributes: High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
Typical Job Requirements
- Experience: Generally 2–3 years of experience in accounting or data entry roles.
- Roles: Often referred to as Accounts Assistant, Junior Accountant, or Billing Executive.
