Job Description:
An architectural designer creates building designs, layouts, and technical drawings using CAD/BIM software, working under licensed architects to develop project concepts, plans, and 3D models. They are responsible for adhering to building codes, meeting with clients, and revising designs based on feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Create, revise, and update architectural designs, floor plans, and site plans.
- Technical Drawing: Produce detailed construction documents and 3D renderings using software like AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
- Client Collaboration: Meet with clients to define project requirements, budgets, and design objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs conform to local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility.
- Site Analysis: Gather measurements, perform site surveys, and assist with feasibility studies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field.
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD (AutoCAD) and BIM (Revit) software.
- Design Skills: Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design skills, spatial awareness, and technical detailing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for presenting designs and collaborating with teams.
- Experience: Often requires 2-5years of experience or relevant internships.
