Job Description:
A Civil Engineer in an architectural design role bridges the gap between aesthetic design and structural functionality, creating detailed plans using CAD software while ensuring building code compliance and safety. Key duties include collaborating with architects, developing structural drawings, analyzing loads, and overseeing design feasibility for projects like buildings and residential sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Modeling: Develop detailed structural drawings, models, and 3D renderings using software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Technical Analysis: Analyze site conditions, structural integrity, load-bearing capacities, and environmental impact.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and zoning laws.
- Collaboration: Work directly with architects to translate visual concepts into buildable, cost-effective, and safe designs.
- Documentation & Review: Prepare, review, and verify project specifications, blueprints, and permits, ensuring accuracy before construction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM software.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of structural analysis, construction methods, and materials.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication for collaborating with teams and clients.
