Job Description:
A Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) - Mechanical in a steel plant assists with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of heavy machinery like furnaces, conveyors, and rolling mills. Responsibilities include executing preventive maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, and improving production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Assist in carrying out daily, preventive, and shutdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing breakdowns and repairing heavy machinery such as cranes, furnaces, and hydraulics.
- Safety Adherence: Strictly follow safety protocols (e.g., [LOTO - Lockout/Tagout], [PPE - Personal Protective Equipment]) during operations.
- Operational Support: Support production teams to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Documentation: Record daily maintenance activities, log sheets, and maintenance reports.
Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, hydraulic systems, and mechanical maintenance principles.
- Attributes: Proactive learning attitude, readiness to work in shifts, and good communication skills.
