Job Description:
A Store Executive in a steel manufacturing company manages raw materials (iron ore, scrap), consumables, and finished goods (TMT bars, billets), ensuring accurate inventory tracking. They oversee inward/outward logistics, maintain SAP/ERP records, manage warehouse organization (5S), and verify material quality/quantity to support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal stock levels, perform regular physical inventory checks (stock-taking), and implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) for raw materials and finished goods.
- Material Handling & Storage: Receive raw materials and consumables, inspect deliveries for quality and quantity discrepancies, and organize storage safely.
- Documentation & Reporting: Update daily records of material inward (GRN) and outward (Dispatch/Consumption) in ERP/SAP systems.
- Logistics & Dispatch: Coordinate the loading of finished steel products (TMT bars/billets) and prepare dispatch documents (delivery challans).
- Operational Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety norms, 5S practices, and manage scrap disposal.
Required Skills
- Technical: ERP/SAP proficiency (MM module), MS Excel.
- Experience: Previous experience in a steel plant, foundry, or heavy engineering warehouse is highly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage heavy material handling.
Typical Requirements
- Education: Graduate (preferably Commerce or Science) or Diploma in Material Management.
- Experience: Typically 2–8+ years in warehouse operations.
