Job Description:
A Civil Supervisor for Transportation Services manages on-site construction, maintenance, and logistics of transportation infrastructure (roads, depots, terminals). They ensure projects meet design specifications, safety regulations (OSHA), and timelines while coordinating resources, contractors, and field staff to maintain efficient operational flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management: Oversee daily construction or maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with blueprints and technical specifications.
- Operational Coordination: Coordinate transportation logistics, vehicle movements, and fleet maintenance to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (HSE/OSHA) for workers, equipment, and public safety on site.
- Resource Management: Manage on-site materials, labor, and machinery usage to keep projects within budget.
- Scheduling & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of site progress, vehicle repair, and personnel, submitting reports to management.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and local authorities to address onsite conflicts or changes in design.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in site supervision, preferably within transportation or civil infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and scheduling skills.
Common Qualifications/Skills Required
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and MS Office.
- Proven ability to lead a team of workers.
