ACCOUNTANT FOR COAL WASHERY - SUNDARGARH , ODISHA

Job Description:

An Accountant in a coal washery is responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate records related to coal processing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records (purchases, sales, expenses, and receipts)
• Handle inventory accounting for raw coal, processed coal, and rejects
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and MIS for management
• Manage billing, invoicing, and reconciliation of coal dispatches
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations
• Monitor cost accounting related to coal washing and processing
• Handle accounts payable and receivable efficiently
• Assist in audits (internal and external) and ensure proper documentation
• Process payroll and manage employee-related financial records
• Coordinate with operations and logistics teams for accurate financial tracking

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation (GST, TDS)
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems)
• Good understanding of inventory and cost accounting
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in an industrial/mining environment

Preferred Experience:

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in coal, mining, or manufacturing industry
