SHIFT INCHARGE POWER PLANT OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - TILDA , CHHATTISGARH

Job Description:

The Shift Incharge is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of the steel plant’s power generation and utility systems during their shift. This role ensures uninterrupted power supply, optimal performance of equipment, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor and control power plant systems, including electrical, mechanical, and thermal processes.
• Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly to maintain continuous power supply.
• Implement safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Allocate manpower and assign tasks effectively within the shift team.
• Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and reports for management review.
• Optimize energy efficiency and plant performance while reducing operational costs.
• Conduct shift handovers and coordinate with other shifts for seamless plant operation.
• Liaise with contractors, vendors, and internal departments for plant upgrades or maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in power plant operations, preferably in the steel or heavy industry sector.
• Strong knowledge of boilers, turbines, generators, electrical distribution, and industrial steam systems.
• Familiarity with safety, quality, and environmental management systems (ISO, OHSAS, etc.).
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations.
