Job Description:
A Hyva Operator in a steel pipes manufacturing company is responsible for operating hydraulic tipper trucks (Hyva) and associated loading machinery (such as JCBs or wheel loaders) to transport raw materials—like iron ore, coal, scrap metal, or finished steel pipes—within the factory premises, raw material yard, or to external sites. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials in the production cycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operation: Drive and operate Hyva tipper trucks and loading equipment (front-end loaders/JCB) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Loading/Unloading: Efficiently load raw materials, manage hydraulic tipping mechanisms to unload materials, and transport finished products, ensuring no damage occurs.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily safety checks (oil levels, fuel, brake fluid, tire pressure, and hydraulic systems) and report or repair minor issues to ensure high vehicle uptime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to plant and site safety regulations, including wearing PPE, controlling vehicle speed, and operating in the correct direction.
- Coordination: Collaborate with logistics and production staff for timely material shifting and follow hand signals or instructions from ground staff.
- Documentation: Maintain logbooks for fuel usage, trips, and daily operation hours.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- License: Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driver’s license is required.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in operating Hyva/tipper trucks or heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of hydraulic systems, tipping mechanisms, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Physical Ability: Good physical condition to work in a demanding manufacturing environment.
- Location: Experience working in Steel Plants, Mining, or Construction industries is often preferred.
