Job Description:
1. Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations (IR) & Union Management (Highest Priority)
  • Act as the primary liaison between plant management and the workforce/union representatives.
  • Handle labor disputes, grievances, and disciplinary actions to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements (wage settlements, worker agreements).
  • Maintain a peaceful and productive work environment by strictly following the industrial dispute act. 
     
Statutory Compliance & Factory Administration
  • Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws (Factories Act 1948, CLRA, EPF, ESI, Minimum Wages).
  • Oversee all necessary paperwork, worker compensation claims, and legal inspections.
  • Supervise daily factory-level administration (canteen, transport, security, housekeeping). 
     
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Recruit both permanent staff and contract workers based on production planning.
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding, ensuring the right fit for the manufacturing culture. 
     
Performance & Talent Management
  • Oversee the performance appraisal process (PMS) for plant staff and executives.
  • Develop talent pipelines and succession plans for key technical roles. 
     
Training & Development (L&D)
  • Identify training needs, specifically regarding workplace safety, technical skills, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and implement safety training programs. 
     
HR Operations & Payroll
  • Oversee payroll processing, attendance, leave management, and OT calculations for the factory.
  • Maintain accurate employee records using HRIS/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Keka). 
     
 

 
2. Desired Candidate Profile (Qualifications & Experience)
  • Education: MBA/PGDM in HR/Industrial Relations from a reputable institute.
  • Experience: 0-1+ years of HR experience within a heavy engineering/steel plant/manufacturing environment.
  • Essential Skills:
    • Thorough understanding of labor laws and statutory compliance.
    • Strong Industrial Relations (IR) expertise.
    • Proficiency in HRMS/ERP systems.
    • Excellent communication skills (Hindi, English, Local Language).
  • Desired Attributes: Highly proactive, self-motivated, and firm approach in managing a large workforce.
