Job Description:
A General Manager (GM) of Marketing for a steel manufacturing company develops and executes strategic marketing plans to drive brand awareness, market share, and sales growth for steel products (TMT bars, billets, sponge iron). They oversee digital, advertising, and branding efforts, manage budgets, and analyze market trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop long-term and short-term marketing strategies, positioning, and pricing for value-added steel products.
- Market Analysis & Growth: Identify new market segments, expand market share, and monitor competitor activities (pricing, new products).
- Brand Management: Ensure a strong, consistent brand message across all channels (digital, social media, print, events).
- Sales Coordination: Work closely with sales teams to boost brand awareness and align marketing efforts with business objectives.
- Customer Relationship Management: Manage key client relationships, address complaints, and implement loyalty programs.
- Budget & Performance Monitoring: Prepare and manage marketing budgets, and analyze sales performance metrics to report on ROI.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the marketing team, setting goals and tracking performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 10–15+ years of experience in sales and marketing, specifically within the iron, steel, or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of steel products (e.g., TMT bars, wire rods, billets, sponge iron).
- Skills: Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Tools: Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
