Job Description:
A Dispatch Supervisor for Logistics oversees daily transportation, route planning, and team performance to ensure timely, compliant deliveries. Key responsibilities include managing driver schedules, using tracking software, resolving transit issues, and maintaining accurate shipping documentation. They ensure operational efficiency and high customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Oversight: Manage daily dispatch activities, including routing, scheduling, and driver assignments to ensure efficient, on-time delivery.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor dispatchers and drivers, fostering a culture of safety and performance.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all shipments comply with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
- Tracking & Problem Solving: Monitor vehicle/shipment progress using software and resolve delays, accidents, or urgent issues.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records (proof of delivery, e-way bills) and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve productivity.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with warehouse, inventory, and sales departments for smooth order fulfillment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years in logistics, transportation, or dispatch, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dispatch management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Transportation Management), ERP systems, and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Leadership: Strong team management and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with drivers, customers, and vendors.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle high-pressure situations and quickly resolve operational bottlenecks.
Physical Requirements (If applicable)
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
- Flexibility in work hours to meet operational demand, including night shifts if required
