Job Description:
A Production Assistant (PA) in a chains manufacturing company supports the production floor by assisting with machine operations, handling raw materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring quality control standards are met. This role requires high attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Production Support: Assist machine operators with setting up, running, and cleaning equipment (e.g., heat presses, extrusion machinery).
- Material Handling: Feed raw materials into production machinery and move finished parts.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished chains or parts for defects, ensuring they meet quality specifications and standards.
- Inventory & Documentation: Maintain records of raw materials and finished goods, manage inventory databases, and generate manufacturing labels.
- Assembly & Packaging: Assemble products on the line and package finished chains for shipping.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and report machine malfunctions or production issues to maintenance supervisors.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (previous manufacturing experience preferred).
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50–60 lbs).
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills (MS Office/Excel) for inventory management and familiarity with production equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot defects, follow precise instructions, and maintain documentation accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Typical Working Conditions
- Manufacturing plant/factory floor environment.
- Frequent handling of materials, including chemicals or heavy metal parts.
- Requirement to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, glasses, or ear protection.
This position is often an entry-level role with opportunities to advance into machine operating, quality control inspection, or supervisory roles within the company.
