A Plant HR Executive in a steel manufacturing company manages end-to-end HR operations, focusing on industrial relations (IR), statutory compliance (Factories Act), payroll, and shop-floor workforce management. Key responsibilities include recruiting staff/workers, managing attendance, handling union grievances, and maintaining a positive, disciplined work environment.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Industrial Relations (IR): Manage union relationships, handle grievances, and ensure harmonious labor relations.
- Compliance & Legal: Ensure strict adherence to labor laws, including the Factories Act, BOCW Act, and Payment of Wages Act.
- Talent Acquisition: Manage recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for plant staff and workers.
- Payroll & Attendance: Administer biometric systems, track shifts, and process payroll, overtime (OT), and deductions.
- Employee Welfare: Manage canteen, transport, and safety gear compliance.
- Discipline: Enforce factory policies, manage disciplinary proceedings, and maintain records.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: MBA/PGDM in HR/Industrial Relations or MSW.
- Experience: 5–8 years (for executive/manager level) in manufacturing, specifically in plant operations.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Skills: Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to work with shop-floor employees.
