Job Description:
An Accountant Fresher in a steel manufacturing firm handles daily financial transactions, including data entry (sales/purchases/cash), bank reconciliations, and basic tax compliance (GST/TDS) using software like Tally or SAP. Responsibilities include supporting senior staff with inventory accounting, invoice processing, and, under supervision, preparing preliminary financial statements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Daily Transaction Processing: Maintain accurate daily records of purchases (raw materials like iron ore/scrap), sales (finished goods), and bank transactions.
- Inventory & Cost Accounting: Assist in tracking inventory levels, production costs, and raw material consumption.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process vendor invoices, manage payments, and handle customer billing/receipts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Match bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy.
- Statutory Compliance: Assist with filing Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), and other regulatory filings.
- Reporting & Data Entry: Maintain daily books of accounts and assist with generating preliminary MIS reports orProfit and Loss (P&L) statements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce (B.Com), or Finance.
- Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Tally PrimeSAP, or MS Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail for accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of manufacturing accounting is a plus.
Working Conditions
- This is generally a full-time, on-site role, often located near factory/plant sites.
