Job Description:
A PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) Erection Engineer manages on-site installation, ensuring structural components like columns, rafters, and sheeting are erected safely, accurately, and on schedule. Responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, coordinating crews, ensuring quality compliance, and managing safety protocols (especially working at heights).
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Oversee the entire erection process, from foundation checking to final sheeting, ensuring adherence to erection drawings and safety standards.
- Technical Planning: Plan daily/weekly erection schedules, including crane movements and manpower allocation.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming material, monitor structural alignment, bolt torqueing, and welding quality.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to resolve on-site issues (e.g., misalignments, fit-up issues).
- Safety Compliance: Enforce rigid safety protocols, particularly for cranes, rigging, and working at heights.
- Reporting: Prepare daily progress reports, inventory tracking, and safety logs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: B.E./Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–8+ years in PEB or heavy structural steel erection.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading PEB Erection & General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and troubleshooting abilities.
Typical Physical/Work Environment:
- Requires working at construction sites, potentially in remote locations.
- Must be adept at managing teams of 20–40+ workers, including fitters, welders, and crane operators.
