Job Description:
A Logistics Operations Manager oversees the entire movement, storage, and distribution of goods, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery by managing teams, optimizing warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, dispatching), coordinating transport, handling vendor relations, ensuring safety, and using data to drive continuous process improvement. Key duties involve transportation and warehousing, performance monitoring, problem-solving, and collaborating across departments to align logistics with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily logistics, including inbound/outbound shipments, warehousing (storage, picking, packing, dispatch), and distribution.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead logistics teams (drivers, warehouse staff) to meet targets and service standards.
- Transportation & Carrier Management: Select carriers, negotiate rates, plan routes, and track shipments.
- Inventory Management: Ensure accurate warehouse inventory, manage stock levels, and maintain records.
- Performance & Process Improvement: Implement KPIs, analyze data, resolve issues, and drive innovation in logistics processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with suppliers, customers, and internal teams (e.g., manufacturing, sales).
- Budget & Compliance: Monitor budgets, manage vendor invoices, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
