Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Boundary Delineation: Locate and establish exact property lines, corners, and rights-of-way based on historical deeds, legal titles, and local regulations.
- Topographic Mapping: Measure and record the elevations and contours of land to determine its suitability for development.
- Fieldwork Operations: Conduct on-site measurements using advanced equipment such as GPS, Total Stations, and 3D laser scanners.
- Data Processing & Drafting: Analyze collected raw data and translate it into precise survey maps, sketches, and legal reports using CAD and GIS software.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with real estate developers, urban planners, civil engineers, and architects to ensure project alignments and zoning compliance.
- Dispute Resolution: Provide expert testimony and technical documentation to resolve boundary discrepancies or land disputes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Licensure: Often requires a professional license (e.g., Professional Land Surveyor or Registered Professional Land Surveyor depending on the region).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of CAD, GIS, and modern surveying hardware.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced mathematical and spatial reasoning abilities to perform complex calculations and boundary analyses.
