Job Description:
A real estate Liaison Officer bridges the gap between developers, government bodies, and regulatory authorities. They navigate complex processes to secure statutory permits, ensure legal compliance, and accelerate project development timelines. [1, 2]
Key Responsibilities
- Government Clearances: Coordinate with local authorities (such as Town & Country Planning, Revenue, Municipal Corporation, and Fire/Pollution boards) to obtain land use conversions, building sanctions, and environmental clearances.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure project adherence to state norms, building bye-laws, and the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA).
- Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication between internal teams (legal, project management, sales) and external entities.
- Land Acquisition Support: Assist in verifying land titles, reviewing acquisition documents, and tracking title clearance processes.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively monitor policy shifts and resolve regulatory bottlenecks that could cause construction delays. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Typically 10+ years of experience in real estate liaisoning, corporate law, or public administration.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a Law degree (LLB) is highly preferred.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of local land laws, zoning norms, and municipal building codes.
