Job Description:
A Cement Plant Operator monitors and controls machinery in a cement production facility, operating equipment like crushers, mills, and batch plants, adjusting controls for optimal mix, performing routine maintenance, conducting quality checks (slump, weight), ensuring safety compliance, and completing production reports, often working in shifts to maintain 24/7 operations. They are crucial for the efficient, safe, and quality production of cement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation: Start, stop, and monitor machinery (mills, kilns, crushers, batchers) from a central control room (CCR) or on the plant floor.
- Monitoring & Control: Adjust machine settings, temperatures, pressures, and material flow to meet production specifications.
- Quality Control: Perform tests (slump, unit weight), check raw material levels, and ensure final product quality.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine checks, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs; report major issues.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety regulations, hygiene standards, and environmental protocols.
- Reporting: Prepare production reports, log material usage, and document operational data.
- Coordination: Communicate with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other operators for smooth workflow, often including shift handovers.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of cement production processes, equipment operation, and basic math.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and maintain efficiency.
- Attention to Detail: Critical for monitoring controls and maintaining quality.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a demanding industrial environment, often in shifts.
