Job Description:

• Process Optimization: Design and control pass schedules, rolling speeds, tensions, and temperature to meet quality specs like gauge, flatness, and crown.
• Quality Control: Monitor product quality, troubleshoot defects (e.g., chatter, edge cracks, coil breaks), and ensure compliance with standards.
• ** Yield & Cost Improvement:** Drive initiatives for scrap reduction, yield enhancement, and overall cost optimization.
• ** Technical Support:** Provide expertise on automation (AGC/AFC), lubrication, roll management, and maintenance coordination.
• ** Safety & Compliance:** Implement SOPs, enforce safety standards (PPE, safe practices), and manage environmental compliance.
• ** Collaboration:** Work with maintenance, quality, metallurgy, and operations teams for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• ** Training:** Mentor operators, supervisors, and junior engineers on best practices and new procedures. 

• Metallurgy, mechanical systems, and automation.
• Understanding of rolling mill equipment (furnaces, mills, finishing lines).
• Data analysis for process improvement.
• Problem-solving for complex rolling issues. 

• Monitoring live production data and mill performance.
• Conducting routine inspections and troubleshooting equipment.
• Planning roll changes and guide setup.
• Analyzing production reports to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensuring adherence to safety checks and procedures.
