Job Description:

An architect plans, designs, and oversees the construction of buildings and structures, blending creative and technical skills to turn client needs into functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Their duties include consulting with clients, developing conceptual designs, creating detailed blueprints using CAD software, and ensuring projects comply with building codes, budgets, and timelines. They collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to final completion. 

• Design and planning: Developing initial concepts, creating detailed drawings and specifications, and coordinating with engineering elements into a unified design.
• Client and stakeholder communication: Meeting with clients to understand their needs, negotiating with contractors, and presenting proposals to clients and various authorities.

• Technical and regulatory compliance: Ensuring designs adhere to zoning laws, building codes, and safety standards.

• Project management: Estimating costs, managing budgets and timelines, and overseeing project teams to ensure projects are completed as designed and within budget.

• Site supervision: Visiting construction sites to monitor progress and ensure the project aligns with design specifications.

• Documentation and administration: Preparing construction documents, planning applications, bids, and contracts. 

• Education: A degree in architecture or a related field.
• Technical skills: Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software like AutoCAD and Revit, and other design and project management software.
• Knowledge: A strong understanding of building codes, materials, construction procedures, and safety standards.
• Soft skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills, along with strong creative and visualization abilities.
