Job Description:

 

An IT officer provides technical support to users, installs and maintains hardware and software, and ensures the stability and security of an organization's IT systems. Key duties include troubleshooting issues, managing user accounts, performing system backups, and documenting procedures. This role requires strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
 
Core responsibilities
  • Provide technical support: Assist end-users with hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Install and configure: Set up and configure computer systems, software applications, and peripherals for new and existing users.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain: Diagnose and resolve technical problems, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure system stability.
  • Manage security: Monitor systems for security threats, implement security protocols, and manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Document and report: Maintain accurate records of support tickets, system changes, and IT procedures.
  • Monitor performance: Track system performance and identify potential problems before they impact operations. 
 
Required skills and qualifications
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, macOS), hardware, software, and network protocols.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to systematically troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for clear and effective communication with users and team members.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is often required.

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
