Job Description:
A fresher fitter's job description involves assembling, installing, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment under supervision. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing routine maintenance, cutting and shaping metal, and ensuring all work complies with safety standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools. 
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install mechanical components and machinery, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment. Diagnose and fix malfunctions or broken parts.
  • Fabrication: Cut, shape, and fit metal parts to required specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Reading Blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand project requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborate with senior technicians to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of maintenance and repair work performed. 
 
Qualifications
  • Education: ITI certification in Fitting or a related field is often required.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and precision in work.
    • Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
    • Familiarity with safety protocols.
