Job Description:
A Pollution Control Manager, also known as an Environmental Manager, ensures an organization's compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals by managing environmental systems, overseeing pollution control facilities, and developing strategies to reduce waste and promote eco-friendly practices. Key responsibilities include monitoring environmental performance, submitting reports to regulatory bodies, training staff, and liaising with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management:Ensure all industrial operations and facilities adhere to local, state, and federal environmental laws, regulations, and internal Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.

Environmental Systems:Administer the organization's Environmental Management System (EMS) by developing, implementing, and monitoring its various components.

Pollution Control & Waste Management:Oversee the proper treatment and handling of wastewater, emissions, hazardous waste, and other pollutants.

Sustainability Initiatives:Drive and implement strategies to promote sustainability, such as waste reduction, recycling, and the use of renewable energy.

Monitoring & Auditing:Conduct regular environmental audits, analyze performance data, and monitor pollution control facilities and environmental equipment.

Reporting:Prepare and submit environmental monitoring reports to internal management and external regulatory agencies.

Staff Training & Awareness:Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees at all levels on environmental policies, responsibilities, and best practices.

Incident Response:Investigate environmental incidents and develop and implement action plans to prevent recurrence.

Stakeholder Liaison:Act as a key point of contact between the company, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders on environmental matters.

Budget & Resource Management:Develop budgets for environmental operations, manage costs, and negotiate environmental service agreements.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:Typically a bachelor's degree in an engineering or environmental science field.

Knowledge:Strong understanding of environmental management principles, sustainability, and relevant environmental laws and regulations.

Experience:Experience in managing environmental systems, conducting environmental audits, and dealing with regulatory agencies.

Communication:Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with different stakeholders.
