Job Description:
A General Manager of Human Resources (GM HR) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of an organization's human resources functionsThis includes developing and implementing HR strategies, managing employee relations, ensuring legal compliance, and driving talent management initiatives. The GM HR also plays a crucial role in shaping organizational culture and aligning HR functions with the overall business strategy. 
 
Key Responsibilities of a GM HR:
  • Developing and Implementing HR Strategies:
    • Creating and executing HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. 
       
    • Developing and managing HR policies, procedures, and programs. 
       
    • Ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations. 
       
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Overseeing the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent. 
       
    • Managing the onboarding process for new employees. 
       
    • Developing and implementing training and development programs. 
       
    • Identifying and addressing talent gaps within the organization. 
       
  • Employee Relations:
    • Managing employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions. 
       
    • Fostering a positive and productive work environment. 
       
    • Ensuring effective communication between management and employees. 
       
  • Performance Management:
    • Developing and implementing performance appraisal systems. 
       
    • Providing regular feedback to employees and assisting with performance improvement. 
       
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Overseeing compensation and benefits programs. 
       
    • Ensuring that compensation and benefits are competitive and aligned with market trends. 
       
  • HR Operations:
    • Managing HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and personnel records. 
       
    • Utilizing HR systems and databases effectively. 
       
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Leading and managing the HR team, providing guidance and support. 
       
    • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. 
       
  • Strategic HR Planning:
    • Partnering with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies. 
       
    • Providing guidance and support to senior management on HR-related matters. 
       
    • Analyzing HR metrics and data to identify trends and make recommendations. 
       
    • Ensuring HR is aligned with the overall business strategy. 
       
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Experience with HR systems and databases.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Company Profile

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
