Job Description:

Position Title: GM / VP – Human Resources

Location: Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh
Industry: Steel / Manufacturing / Heavy Engineering
Department: Human Resources
Reporting To: Managing Director / CEO


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Leader to oversee all aspects of Human Resources at our integrated steel plant in Gorakhpur. The ideal candidate will drive HR strategy, industrial relations, workforce planning, talent development, and ensure alignment with business goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

  • Lead HR initiatives related to organizational development, culture building, and change management.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on all HR matters.

Talent Acquisition & Management:

  • Design and execute recruitment strategies for all plant functions – operations, engineering, maintenance, safety, etc.

  • Drive performance management systems and succession planning initiatives.

Industrial Relations & Compliance:

  • Lead union negotiations and maintain harmonious industrial relations.

  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.

  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions effectively.

Training & Development:

  • Implement capability-building programs focused on technical, safety, and leadership development.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

HR Operations:

  • Oversee payroll, time management, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Ensure accurate HR MIS, HRIS management, and analytics.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Qualification: MBA/PGDM in HR or MSW from a reputed institute. Law qualification will be an added advantage.

  • Experience: 18–25 years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a large manufacturing plant (preferably steel, power, or process industries).

  • Strong exposure to industrial relations, labor law compliance, and union management.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic HR, leadership development, and cultural transformation.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
