Job Description:
A Contract Management Manager (Civil) for a mining project is responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract management, including drafting, negotiating, executing, and monitoring contracts related to civil construction within a mining operationThis includes managing sub-contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations, and resolving disputes, all while adhering to the project's budget and timeline. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Lifecycle Management:
    Drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts for civil construction components of the mining project, including infrastructure, buildings, and site development. 
     
  • Sub-contractor Management:
    Overseeing sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and managing their performance. 
     
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    Ensuring all contracts adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and project standards, and identifying and mitigating potential risks. 
     
  • Contract Negotiation:
    Negotiating contract terms with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring fair and advantageous terms for the project. 
     
  • Change Management:
    Managing contract changes, including scope changes, cost variations, and schedule adjustments. 
     
  • Contract Monitoring and Reporting:
    Tracking contract performance, monitoring compliance with obligations, and preparing reports on contract status. 
     
  • Dispute Resolution:
    Managing and resolving contract disputes, ensuring amicable resolutions and minimizing potential legal challenges. 
     
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Communicating with project managers, engineering teams, legal counsel, and other stakeholders on contract-related matters. 
     
  • Database Management:
    Maintaining a comprehensive contract database, including contract details, amendments, and renewals. 
     
  • Insurance Coordination:
    Coordinating with risk management teams for contractual insurance needs, including renewals and closures.
