TG FIELD OPERATOR FOR POWER PLANT - OPERATION - BILASPUR , CHHATTISGARH

Job Description:

To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the turbine-generator and its associated auxiliary systems by performing field inspections, monitoring parameters, supporting control room operations, and assisting in routine maintenance tasks.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

✅ 1. Field Operations

• Perform regular field rounds in the TG area and monitor equipment conditions.

• Observe and record key parameters like temperature, pressure, vibration, flow rates, oil levels, etc.

• Assist in start-up, loading, unloading, and shutdown operations of steam or gas turbines under the guidance of the control room.

✅ 2. Equipment Monitoring

• Monitor operation of:

  • Steam/Gas Turbine

  • Generator

  • Lube oil system

  • Seal oil system

  • Hydraulic governing system

  • Cooling systems (air, water, or oil-cooled)

• Report abnormalities like leaks, unusual noises, vibrations, or any trip signals immediately.

✅ 3. Coordination with Control Room

• Communicate status and abnormalities to the Control Room Engineer (DCS Operator).

• Carry out field actions based on instructions from the control room during normal and emergency conditions.

✅ 4. Safety and Compliance

• Strictly follow safety protocols, including:

  • Permit to Work (PTW)

  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

  • Confined space entry

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Support emergency operations like firefighting, system isolation, etc.

✅ 5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain proper logbooks of:

  • Equipment readings

  • Shift activities

  • Observations and abnormalities

• Prepare daily field reports and submit to the shift in-charge.

✅ 6. Support Maintenance

• Assist maintenance teams during:

  • Preventive maintenance

  • Breakdown repair

  • Overhauls and inspections

• Carry out basic maintenance tasks like filter cleaning, greasing, tightening, etc.

📘 Qualifications & Experience

🎓 Education:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering

• Preferred trades: Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic

💼 Experience:

• 0–5 years in turbine operations in a power plant or industrial utility

🧠 Key Skills Required

• Basic understanding of turbine and generator systems

• Familiarity with field instrumentation (gauges, transmitters)

• Ability to read P&ID drawings (optional)

• Safety awareness and SOP compliance

• Communication and teamwork

🕒 Work Conditions

• Shift-based work (including night shifts and holidays)

• Work in outdoor/field environment with noise and high temperature

• Physical fitness required to perform inspections and emergency responses
